DENVER (KDVR) — Thursday morning, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis will stand before the state's General Assembly to deliver the annual State of the State address.
The General Assembly held its first day of the session on Wednesday.
Polis is expected to address a variety of topics that Colorado has dealt with in the last year, as well as look ahead to the coming year. Likely topics include taxes, the state budget, housing affordability and migration.
Both Democrats and Republicans said they have the same goal -- to improve affordability. But they have different ideas on how to do it.

Democrats said they want to invest in public schools and reduce taxes to make housing more affordable.
Leaders on the left also said they want to introduce legislation to help stabilize rent prices in Colorado.
On the right, Republican leaders said they will be focused on repealing laws they believe make Colorado more expensive. They're looking to get rid of everything from regulations on small businesses to fees for a bag at the grocery store.
Democrats have a majority in both the Colorado House and Senate. However, they will still need to work across party lines on some issues because they no longer have a supermajority like they had in the past.
