KARLSRUE, ND (KXNET) — A Voltaire man was killed Wednesday evening when he was pinned by his car against a structure while trying to pull the vehicle from a ditch. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the 64-year-old man was leaving a driveway at a rural McHenry County location January 8 when his pickup went off the driveway and got stuck in a ditch. Another pickup driven by a 74-year-old Balfour man was used to try and tow the other truck from the ditch. As the vehicle was being towed, the two vehicles got close to a nearby "structure." The pair stopped to check their progress and the Voltaire man got out of his truck. The Balfour man resumed towing the vehicle, not knowing the Voltaire man has exited his truck. The Voltaire man was then pinned between his vehicle and the structure. He was then pulled free and CPR was performed at the scene. He later died of his injuries on the way to the hospital. The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Today's Top Stories SIGN UP NOW
