Bald eagle to be released in Baton Rouge after getting treatment at LSU Vet Med

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - An adult bald eagle is set to be released on the Mississippi River levee after getting treatment from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
The release will happen near the school at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9.
According to the vet school, the eagle was brought with a fractured coracoid bone on Nov. 1. The eagle has recovered and will be released on the stairs at the intersection of Skip Bertman Drive and River Road.
The LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital accepts wildlife cases between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. You can donate to LSU Vet Med’s Wildlife Hospital of Louisiana at this website.
