AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin Independent School District phone lines are down due to an outage with the vendor, according to the district. AISD sent an alert to families Thursday morning notifying them of the outage. The alert read, "Austin ISD phone lines are down due to an outage with our vendor. Please connect with your campus via email or in-person. In case of an emergency, use a cell phone to call 911. Check your email for more information." AISD did not say whether the outage with the vendor was related to inclement winter weather across Texas. Schools and offices within AISD are operating on a regular schedule Thursday. Weather alert: Cold rain, wintry mix today After-school outdoor athletic activities were canceled, and any other outdoor activities will move indoors, the district said in a social media post. The district said it will continue to post updates online, on social media, and on the Austin ISD mobile app.
