One in custody after allegedly firing shots at officers in southeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is in custody after allegedly firing shots at Columbus police officers Thursday morning on the southeast side.
A Columbus police spokesperson said officers were sent to the 1000 block of Lockbourne Road just before 11 a.m. on the report a person had a gun. The suspect is alleged to have fired shots at officers as soon as they arrived at the scene, per police. At least one officer fired their gun towards the suspect.

The suspect was apprehended and taken to a hospital with a non-gunshot related injury. Police said no officers were injured and that several firearms were recovered at the scene.
