AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin Police Department detectives are investigating the second homicide of 2025 after a body was found at an apartment complex in east Austin overnight. APD officers responded to a call around 1:44 a.m. that reported a body lying in a pool of blood at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Manor Road. Police said during a press briefing early Thursday that officers found the person "with trauma to the neck," and the person was pronounced dead on the scene. Police could not provide any more details about the person or the injuries.
