Conditions improve but some problems remain following DC's winter storm

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The District is still digging out of the snow from this week's winter storm.
Crossing the Bryant Street Bridge can be treacherous at times for those who walk across it.
"A lot of us are slipping. People are getting injured," said Girra Perez, who uses the pedestrian walkways that lead to and from the Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood Metro Station. "A lot of people are trying to go to work or try to go to school."
Bethesda neighbors frustrated with Montgomery County’s snow removal efforts
The bridge is not the only path covered in snow.
Drivers take their time as they make their way along portions of Swann Street NW, as District plows have yet to clear the snow but that's not the only issue.
Ice layers alleys off 17th St. NW. However, McDonald's employees lay down salt in their parking lot to improve the footing.
Several blocks on P St. NW east of Logan Circle remained messy Wednesday, with snow packed on the pavement and ice accumulating near sidewalk on and off ramps.
It currently takes a bit longer to get to your destination but some are not discouraged by the weather.
Logan Lawrence and his dog, Lyla, are among those enjoying the weather at S Street Dog Park.
"I worked at the hospital earlier, and then, I got off early," Lawrence said. "So it's, it's a good day to be outside, the sun's out."
These DMV schools remain closed due to snowy conditions for fourth day; some delays
Despite the snow on the Bryant Street Bridge, some take it in stride.
"We don't get that much snow around here," Perez said. "So it's like a new energy is like festive, like it's cold, like everybody's feeling the spirit."
You can stay up to date on the plowing efforts around the District with the Snow Team Tracker.
Residents are urged to contact 311 for the Department of Public Works to clear ice and snow from residential roadways.
On the prospect more snow will arrive in the DMV this weekend, Michael -- a driver who lamented the conditions on Swann Street -- was surprised.
"Damn. Only thing I can say is, 'wow -- bring it on, man, so we can get it over with,'" he said.
