ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Bowlero, a bowling alley in Webster on Empire Boulevard, needed to be evacuated Wednesday night due to a fire in the kitchen, according to the West Webster Fire District.
A portion of Empire Boulevard near Gravel Road was shut down to traffic as fire crews surrounded the location. The area has since been reopened.

Multiple companies assisted at the scene, including the Northeast Joint Fire District. Webster Police were also on the scene.
Reports of a fire at the location surfaced around 9 p.m. According to West Webster Fire Chief Glen Moorhouse, crews found the fire in the ceiling of the rear kitchen, which necessitated an aggressive attack. The fire was under control within the hour, though Moorhouse said the ice outside and the size of the building were somewhat problematic for firefighters.

No one was injured. Everyone inside was able to get out swiftly. According to Moorhouse, Bowlero is expected to be closed for the next few days, possibly weeks. News 8 reached out to Bowlero for comment Saturday night but have yet to hear back. A cause of the fire remains unclear.
