SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah State men's basketball team came from behind to defeat Morehouse College on Jan. 8 at Tiger Arena in the interim head coaching debut of Clevan Thompson, 64-57. Savannah State trailed by as many as nine points in the first half. The Tigers were able to cut the deficit to three points by the end of the first half. In the second 20 minutes, Savannah State outscored Morehouse by 10, 37-27. The next game for Savannah State is on the road against Albany State on Jan. 11 at 3 p.m. The previous coach was Horace Broadnax. He lead the program for the past 20 years before abruptly retiring on Monday, Jan. 6.
