ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque city leaders are asking the legislature for money this session to tackle some of the metro's biggest problems including public safety, housing, and homelessness. Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Tim Keller said many initiatives, like the Gateway Center, are seeing a return on investment. Green Amendment heading back to the Roundhouse for the fifth time They are asking state lawmakers to fund these efforts to solve affordable housing problems in the city. Albuquerque Police Department Chief Harold Medina is also asking for money for tech for his department. That includes getting Shotspotter in 100% of the city. Mayor Keller said thousands of small city council requests will be included in the package.
