OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Problems with wiring inside a metro grandmother's apartment left her and her family without heat for three days. She called News 4, and within a couple of hours, it was fixed.
"To be cold and to have no heat to keep us warm. We can't cook, we can't shower. These are things that are needed daily," said Thurrayah Davis.

Davis is disabled and a diabetic who lives at the North Village apartment complex near Hefner and Western. She said since Sunday she and her family have been wrapped in blankets and unable to use their stove because of a wiring issue.
She said that OG&E came over and showed her that the property management needed to fix a problem with the wiring inside the home. Her wiring wasn't allowing full power to the appliances inside.
This meant they hadn't had hot water for a shower, the stove wouldn't heat up all the way, and most outlets didn't allow full power for space heaters. Her TV didn't work and she couldn't charge her wheelchair.
One of Davis' big concerns was that even though it was cold in her home, the refrigerator wasn't working properly so the groceries she just bought weren't going to stay good to eat.
"I'm going to have to replace all of the groceries I just bought. And what about my insulin?," said Davis.
She told News 4 that her insulin has to be temperature controlled and it remains in the refrigerator without working properly.
"I instantly contacted my property management to let them know what was happening. Monday they told me that an electrician would be out to fix it," said Davis.
But Monday passed and no electrician came. Davis said she reached out on Tuesday and they told her something similar, but no electrician came.
On Wednesday morning she reached out again but this time decided to reach out to News 4 as well.
While the interview was being conducted, two hours after she emailed her property management, they got back saying that an electrician would be there in an hour or so.
Around 11 a.m. the doors to the information center of the complex were locked and nobody answered the door or the phone.

After almost four hours, the power wasn't fixed yet so News 4 went back to the complex and their office to get answers. This time, someone was at a desk and said that the electrician would fix it before the end of the work day. They said the electrician couldn't do it on Tuesday.
An hour after News 4 confronted the office worker, an electrician did stop by and Davis had her power restored.
"Yes, everything is working now finally all because of your help and the apartment maintenance guy just came and picked up their mini space heaters and was talking about that (News 4 coming by). I am truly grateful, thank you so very much," said Davis later Wednesday.
"I think they should pay for my groceries if I find out that they went bad," said Davis. "I work hard, I'm never late with my rent, and I'm not a problem here."
