MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – Days after the winter storm hit the DMV, many neighborhood streets were still in rough shape with some even staying in dangerous conditions.
DC News Now spoke with neighbors who live along Norwood Drive and Stratford Road in Bethesda who are frustrated after they said they’ve been dealing with icy conditions in their neighborhood for the last two days.

The neighbors said Montgomery County road crews did not do a good job clearing the roads.
“It is very treacherous to walk around in and forget about trying to drive in it,” Antonio Tijerino said.
The neighbors said the county’s snow removal efforts were not much help.
“I didn’t think they did a very good job,” one neighbor said.
Tijerino said they have not seen a snow plow go through their neighborhood for over 24 hours.
“Which means that you just get an ice-skating rink underneath the snow part of it, and the plow comes over and knocks off the snow part of it and you’re left with an ice-skating rink without a Zamboni coming through here to clear it off," Tijerino said.
Those efforts have left many neighbors scratching their heads.
“I don’t know if the problem is they don’t have enough people,” Sylvia said, “What’s going on? It surprises me.”

Montgomery County Department of Transportation Director Chris Conklin said it is working to address areas where additional snow removal is needed.
“Many of those locations are within our residential neighborhoods,” Conklin said. “We are dealing with persistent snowpack on some roads.”
Neighbors can report an icy street and submit a salting service request by going to the county’s Winter Storm Information Portal.
