ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Rochester Police have made an arrest following an investigation into shots fired on West Avenue inside Danforth Tower that nearly struck a security guard.
According to police, on December 28, officers were called to the apartment building just before 9:30 p.m. and determined the gun discharged during an altercation with the security guard in the foyer.
It is alleged that Ricky Casiano, age 26, was attempting to visit an apartment. When security advised him that he needed to sign in to enter the building he got upset and left, returning a short time later with a shotgun and firing one round before leaving the scene in a vehicle.
On January 5, Police arrested Casiano on Lyell Avenue and transported him to Monroe County Jail. He was charged with Attempted Assault (1st), Reckless Endangerment (1st), and Criminal Use of a Firearm (2nd).
Casiano is also on probation due to a previous Assault conviction.
