ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A police chase from Livingston County into Monroe County involving a stolen car ended in a Rochester man's arrest. On Tuesday, a deputy of the Livingston County Sheriff's Office was on I-390 in Avon and saw a vehicle with vehicle and traffic violations. The deputy tried to stop it on East Avon Road, but the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed through the Village of Avon and into the Town of Rush. The driver ended up getting the car stuck while trying to drive down the railroad bed on Stull Road. Deputies said he got out and ran away. Following a two-hour search, Monroe County deputies found the suspect, 48-year-old Gregory Rodgers, on Rotzel Road. He allegedly had suboxone at the time of his arrest and had five previous convictions. Furthermore, the vehicle was stolen out of Rochester. Rodgers was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and several vehicle and traffic violations.
