More snow is on the horizon.  It will not be to the magnitude of what we had last weekend. Accumulations will not be as high and ice is not part of its' plan for Kansas.  Winds will be much weaker. Winter Weather Advisories are posted for a sliver of counties in southern Kansas, East of the Turnpike, and down into Oklahoma. The core timing is from 6 AM Thursday to 8 AM Friday. There will be higher impacts to the midday and evening drives on Thursday around town with leftover clean-up through early Friday morning. Clouds will increase out of Oklahoma later tonight and spread through southern Kansas.  At the same time, due to an approaching cold front from the northwest, clouds will also return to Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska.   The front will start to spark flurries and snow showers to the northwest Thursday morning.   Then, during the afternoon and into the evening, light snow will spread from southwest to northeast out of Oklahoma into portions of Kansas.  This will include the Wichita area by the Thursday evening drive.  Snow will get siphoned to the northeast along the approaching cold front.   The cold front will sweep the snow clear later in the overnight.  Any snow should be done by the Friday morning commute, however, slick and slower than normal travel is possible for some.   The highest snowfall accumulations will be East of the Kansas Turnpike from 2-3" of snow.  The Wichita Metro will be about an inch or two with less as you step to the northwest.   There will be icing and heavier snow from Dallas to Little Rock over to Memphis.  Dallas could see 2-4" of snow with heavier bands approaching 8" of snow by the system's end.  Please know that travel south of us will be treacherous due to this winter storm.  This will also cause significant delays and cancellations at one of our busiest airports in the country, DFW.   With southerly winds before the cold front's arrive on Thursday, temps warm a few more degrees. Temperatures take a slightly cooler detour for Friday before warming on Saturday.  Another cold front comes through by Sunday, resetting temps again.  This front is starved for moisture.  A sprinkle or a flurry cannot be ruled out.  It does not show much organization for us.  Temps take another hit for Monday before climbing through the middle of next week.
