Jan 08, 2025
TOPEKA (KSNT) - The City of Topeka shared updates on the status of snow plowing efforts.
The city said it hopes to have a pass on every residential street by Thursday evening. In an effort to assist downtown businesses, the city has opened the Park N Shop, Centre City and Crosby parking garages to be used free-of-charge from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the rest of the week.
“Our snow plow drivers have worked 12-hour shifts, nonstop since Saturday,” said Steve Groen, City of Topeka Public Works Director. “We want to express our appreciation of their efforts to treat our streets before the blizzard and then clear them after a 14-inch snowfall. This is no easy task and we are grateful for their continued hard work.”
