DOVER (KSNT) - A handicapped Dover man was surprised when his cameras caught a neighbor shoveling snow from his walkway; no questions asked. Dover resident Russ Shults posted in a Dover Facebook group after the kind deed, asking who'd cleaned the ramp. Shults said he is an amputee and his wife also has trouble getting around and uses a walker. "I had been doing something else inside and I didn't hear him knock..." Shults said. "They've worked for me in the past but this was totally out of the blue. I went out there and saw someone cleared it off, so I went and looked at the security camera." Shults later updated the post saying he'd found out who helped. "He's an angel," Shults wrote. 27 News spoke to Francy Lister Wells, the mother of the boy who helped shovel the path. "We all need meaningful work, fresh air and exercise," Wells said. "Shoveling my neighbor's ramp gave my son all three. He was happy to help out around our community." Semi fire shuts down I-70 in Wabaunsee Co. "He and his brother were going around locally and doing people's decks and sidewalks... and my fiancé is limited in her walking too," Shults said. "It's amazing that they're going out and helping people in the community, great young men." For more local news, click here.
