PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity (CBHFH) is inviting applications for two affordable housing units in Pittsfield. Courtesy of CBHFH These homes are two-story, three-bedroom, two-bath units with first-floor bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate aging in place. Each home features modern open-concept designs, Energy Star appliances, and highly efficient heating and cooling systems. Priced at $140,000 each, these properties are part of CBHFH's mission to provide affordable housing solutions for the community. Who Can Apply? Applicants must be first-time homebuyers and meet the following criteria: Secure a mortgage pre-approval for $140,000. Have a household income between 50% and 80% of the Pittsfield Area Median Income. Application packets are available in English and Spanish on the CBHFH website and at several locations, including Pittsfield City Hall, the Berkshire Athenaeum, and Heathway, Inc. A virtual information session will be held via Zoom on January 28 at 2:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required, and the session will be recorded and made available for later viewing. An open house for the Onota Street homes will take place on February 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., providing potential applicants a chance to tour the homes. Bilingual Community Navigators will be present at both events to assist applicants. Application deadline: March 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Family Selection Drawing: March 28, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. CBHFH encourages interested applicants to begin the process early to ensure all financial documents are in order.
