PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- WANDER Berkshires, a queer, transgender-founded community space, has set its official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for January 21 at 10 a.m. It is in downtown Pittsfield at 34 Depot Street in Suite 101. WANDER is a recovery-focused café with local coffee, non-alcoholic drinks and teas, fresh-baked goods, and grab-and-go options. The owners are also looking to open up an accessible photography darkroom in the Berkshires to expand creative opportunities. The café is already open and its hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sunday and Monday. Scotia restaurant to close temporarily after 54 years There is also a lineup of events spanning the month of January to celebrate the grand opening and the new year. Here is the schedule of events: Death Cafe This bi-weekly event began last Tuesday, January 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. Rebecca Churt is hosting the events and it's a space to explore topics regarding life, death, and everything in between over tea and coffee. Sober Sweaty Dance Party The dance party is on Saturday, January 11 from 8 to 11 p.m. DJ BFG will make the sober-friendly night full of music and movement. Queer Skies Presents: Post Holi-Slays This January 18 event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. It is a sober drag show featuring Sativo Green. New café opening in downtown Saratoga Springs Write Your Own Obituary Workshop/Book Reading and Signing This event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. on January 22 where author Eden Robins will conduct a writing workshop guiding participants through writing their own obituary. The author will also do a book reading and signing of the book "Remember You Will Die." WANDER Presents: First Line: Community Storytelling Casi Kristant will host this event on January 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. It invites participants to write a narrative from a shared first line. WANDER Presents: Bella's Bingo Ball Bella Santarella will host her bingo night on January 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be prizes and live entertainment.
