LAKEVILLE, Mass. (WPRI) — A Lakeville man was indicted Friday in connection with a deadly four-vehicle crash that happened almost a year ago.
The Plymouth County District Attorney's (DA) office said David DeLorenzo, 74, was indicted by a grand jury on several charges including second-degree murder and homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance.
BACKGROUND: Lakeville police charge man in fatal crash
The crash happened in the area of Elliot Farm on Main Street in Lakeville on Jan. 19, 2024.
Richard Reed, a 75-year-old man from Lakeville, was killed. Two other people were also hurt in the crash.
The DA's office said DeLorenzo was taken to an area hospital after the crash and a subsequent blood draw found he was "well over the legal limit for blood alcohol content."
In addition to the murder and motor vehicle homicide charges, DeLorenzo also faces four counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and one count of reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
He'll be arraigned in Superior Court at a later date.
