Oklahoma County Detention Center reports first inmate death of 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma County Detention Center says a 42-year-old inmate died after a unspecified medical incident on Wednesday morning.
According to the OCDC, a correctional officer found Vincent Burke in need of medical attention in his cell at about 5:52 a.m. on Wednesday during a site check.

Burke, who was booked into the OCDC on Tuesday on a felony charge of DUI causing great bodily injury, was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
The cause of Burke's death is still under investigation.
