NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Temperatures will stay cool through Thursday and tonight could be our coldest of the week so far. It still looks like widespread hard freeze numbers stay north of our area. Like last night cloud cover and wind will be key factors. It looks like we see less of both tonight which helps temperatures drop another 2 or 3 degrees from Wednesday morning. Areas north of I-12 will have a chance to get down to 27. Most of the area will avoid damaging temperatures this time around but will see a longer duration in the upper 20s than previous cold shots. This could cause additional plant damage. South shore will once again see lows of 30-34. Thursday stays cool as clouds increase through the day and we see highs only topping out around 50. Look for showers to move in after sunset from the west. Some locally heavy rain will move through early Friday followed by another cool day on Saturday.
