Fire in Broadmoor neighborhood displaces 10

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — 10 people have been displaced after a two-alarm fire in the Broadmoor neighborhood on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
The New Orleans Fire Department reported that crews were dispatched to the 3000 block of Toledano Street around 12:37 p.m., where they found a duplex on fire.
More than 12K without power in Jefferson Parish
NOFD officials said the fire was mostly contained to the duplex; however, a nearby home and three apartment units suffered mild to moderate fire, water and smoke damage.
Crews said 17 fire trucks carrying 46 firefighters were used to extinguish the fire.

According to the NOFD, all residents escaped the home before crews arrived, and one man said he received cuts on his hands and legs while escaping through a window.
NOFD officials said the fire's cause is under investigation.
