KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- As the Kansas City metro and surrounding areas continue to dig out from this past weekend's snowstorm, more winter weather is on the way. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for locations south of the Kansas City metro. Joe’s Blog: Sneaky snow system ahead (WED-1/8) The advisory will be in effect from 5 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday. Light snow totals of up to two inches are expected with a dusting possible for the metro and ice accumulations around a light glaze. Slippery road conditions could impact Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. Winter car hacks: Tips and tricks for dealing with snow and ice This includes Miami, Franklin, Anderson and Linn counties on the Kansas side and Cass, Johnson, Henry, Pettis and Bates counties on the Missouri side.
