(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Desert Harvest, a leading provider of women's health products and supplements, has chosen Colorado Springs for expansion and will create over a dozen new jobs when it relocates from Maine. Governor Jared Polis along with the Global Business Development Division of Colorado Office of Economic Development (OEDIT) made the announcement on Tuesday, Jan. 7. “Our state is the best place to live, work, and do business, and we are thrilled to welcome Desert Harvest to Colorado Springs where the company expects to create 15 new, good-paying jobs,” said Governor Polis. The company focuses on producing and selling high-quality, scientifically studied, all-natural supplements and skincare. Owner and CEO Heather Florio is originally from Colorado Springs. “The move to Colorado Springs represents an opportunity to return to my roots while growing the company, creating new jobs in my hometown, and supporting the under-served through continuous research, education, and product development,” said Florio. The expansion is expected to create 15 new jobs averaging $68,505 in wages, which is 108% of the average annual wage in El Paso County. Positions will include executive and administrative roles, marketing positions, along with production and shipping managers. "Colorado ranks as one of the best states in the nation for women-led startups, and women-owned companies in particular are advancing new technologies and products focused on women’s health," said OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman. "We’re pleased to welcome Desert Harvest to this growing and important ecosystem.”
