Upon investigating, officers were led to a house in the 2600 Block of E. Bijou St., and due to circumstances surrounding the shooting, the Tactical Enforcement Unit responded. "Several individuals were contacted inside the residence and were briefly detained," wrote CSPD. "The Assault unit and the Armed Violent Offender responded and assumed the investigation." Police said the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. ORIGINAL STORY: Officers respond to call about "man covered in blood" WEDNESDAY 1/8/2025 12:43 p.m. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is investigating a shooting near Memorial Park on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 8 after officers responded to a call about a "man covered in blood." According to CSPD, officers are on the scene of the 2600 block of East Bijou Street, just west of the intersection with North Circle Drive. According to Sr. Public Communications Specialist, Caitlin Ford Blanco, police are investigating an apartment that is possibly connected.
