Water main break in Fairfax County repaired, services restored

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Drivers were asked to avoid the Fort Hunt area after a water main broke in Fairfax County Tuesday night.
The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said the water main break happened in the Fort Hunt Road and Croton Drive area.
Both directions were shut down and FCPD said the repairs would take a while.

According to the Fairfax Water main break and leaks map, repairs were underway on Wednesday morning and customers were left without water overnight.
In an update shortly after noon, Fairfax Water said repairs were completed and the services were restored for customers in the area.
A spokesperson with Fairfax Water told DC News Now that crews will backfill the site and then complete road repairs.
