LIST: San Diego County communities under or at risk of power shutoffs

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Over 7,000 San Diego Gas & Electric customers were reported to have their power shut off Wednesday morning as the region remains under a Red Flag Warning due to Santa Ana winds.
That number could grow, with the public utility company warning that upwards of 58,000 customers have the potential to be impacted. Specific areas include the county's inland valleys, mountains and deserts along the eastern mountain slopes.

SDG&E issues public safety power shutoffs during periods where high winds, low humidity and low moisture levels in vegetation could create ideal conditions for extreme fire danger. The winds are expected to ease by Thursday, but another round is expected to closely follow, according to the National Weather Service.
