Police use drone to find driver who ran off after Dartmouth crash

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Police say charges are pending against a Dartmouth man who ran off after crashing into a utility pole over the weekend.
Joshua Gallaudet, 41, wasn't in the vehicle when officers arrived at the scene just after 9 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

The utility pole in the area of 603 Potomska Road was broken as a result of the crash, and a witness told police the driver may have fled into the woods nearby.
Police said they used a drone to locate Gallaudet a short time later. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation, but police believe alcohol impairment may have been a factor.
