Driver arrested after allegedly smoking marijuana on interstate

MT. VERNON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police announced a drug bust out of Rockcastle County after a driver allegedly ran out of gas while smoking marijuana on the interstate.
State Police Trooper Brian Maupin responded to the scene. He says he found more than 11 pounds of meth and a glass mason jar full of marijuana inside the driver’s car.
According to Trooper Maupin, the suspect was allegedly smoking marijuana while on driving on the interstate in Mount Vernon when the car ran out of gas.
He says the driver ran from the car after a brief altercation but was arrested a short time later.
