IMPD: 2 arrested after reported armed robbery at near east side Dollar General

INDIANAPOLIS - Two individuals were taken into custody earlier this month after a reported armed robbery at a Dollar General on the near east side of Indianapolis.
According to a post from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to a Dollar General in the 3600 of E. 10th Street on Saturday morning on a report of an armed robbery.
When officers spoke with an employee, he said that two masked people entered the store, pointed a firearm at him and demanded money from the register. The suspects then left the store on foot.

The post read that a description of the two suspects were given to other officers in the area. A witness also told police they saw a white Ford sedan traveling from the Dollar General just after the robbery occurred.
Not long after the initial incident, another call came in reporting that two individuals, matching the description of the suspects in the Dollar General robbery, entered another business in the 1800 block of 10th St.

After officers arrived at the business, the two suspects were located in an alley. The post read that 20-year-old Davion Shaw and 18-year-old Ashleigh Walker were then taken into custody after hoodies, masks and a handgun were found in the alley. The sedan was also located nearby.
The post read that Shaw and Walker were arrested for their alleged roles in the armed robbery at the Dollar General. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decision.
