West Greenwich police to give update on deaths of four residents

WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — On January 3 four bodies were found in a home in West Greenwich with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Now officials will hold a press conference to give the public more clarity on what happened at the home on Cheyenne Trail.
Last Friday morning West Greenwich police were called to conduct a well-being check at a single-story ranch at 15 Cheyenne Trail.
Police said they were initially called to the home after a coworker of one of the residents called police saying the resident hadn’t shown up for work for several days.
Detectives went into and out of the house for hours, and officials eventually said that four people were found dead inside.
The police chief says that this is one of the worst scenes he’s ever witnessed.
“This is probably one of the worst scenes that I’ve had to deal with in this community,” said West Greenwich Police Chief Richard Ramsay.
“You don’t really expect it, but these things do happen.”
As of Wednesday morning, officials have not released the identities of the victims or any additional information on the nature of their deaths.
Police did confirm it was an isolated incident and they’re not looking for any suspects at this time.
Today’s press conference will be held at 11 a.m.
