Patchy flurries and pockets of fine snow falling in a few spots to begin your Wednesday morning! Most wintry precipitation is falling south of downtown (Indianapolis), with a light coating possible, creating additional slick roads. Temperatures are tough too, hovering in the teens and wind chills in the single digits! This afternoon, clouds will thin and some sun will begin to peek through bringing a brighter end to the day. Temperatures will struggle to reach the middle 20s today, as winds remain steady from the northwest at 6-12 mph. Tonight, skies clear and we will be looking at the coldest morning of the winter season so far...some locations falling to near zero by sunrise! Brightest of the week is Thursday before steady, light snow returns on Friday! An early observation takes the main snow track through the Tennessee Valley, where a Winter Storm Warning is already in effect! For us, snow does look likely but accumulations will should remain under 3" in many locations (a breakdown below), but roads will be become slow and slick through the evening rush hour. More to come on the track, timing, and changes in snowfall totals to come later today and tomorrow!
