MARYLAND (DC News Now) -- A leopard was enjoying her snow day at the Maryland Zoo on Tuesday, rolling around and playing in the nearly half a foot of snow blanketing the region this week.
In a post on X, the Maryland Zoo said Sofiya, an Amur Leopard, was full of energy as she leaped, pounced and played around "in the chilly weather she loves the most."

As most of the DMV's students had classes canceled and many people worked from home, the Maryland Zoo wondered who said animals can't enjoy a snow day too.
Furry friends to the south of Maryland in D.C. followed Sofiya's lead. At the Smithsonian National Zoo, giant pandas Bao Li and Qing Bao danced, played, rolled and stomped in the snow while Metis, an Amur tiger, let out a little roar while laying in the fluff.
