FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Palisades Fire has grown to almost 3,000 acres in less than 12 hours prompting the LAFD to call on off-duty members for help - the Fresno Fire Department has responded and will be sending a unit out before the end of the night. Fresno Fire says they will be sending a unit of four firefighters and one battalion chief to Los Angeles to assist with suppression efforts. They leave at midnight. All firefighters heading out from Fresno are off-duty members; officials say they volunteered so the City of Fresno could stay fully staffed.
