MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - For the first time in Madera County's history, a Latina will serve as Chair for the Board of Supervisors. County officials announced on Tuesday, District 4 Supervisor Leticia Gonzalez was elected to her second term and sworn in as Chairwoman. “As Chairwoman, my goal is simple: to be transparent, efficient and focused on serving the best interests of all who call Madera County home. I am committed to running fair and productive meetings and ensuring that we remain accountable to the people we serve," said Chairwoman Gonzalez. According to officials, Supervisor Gonzalez is the first Latina Chairwoman of the Madera County Board of Supervisors, sparking a new chapter and vision for the county. "I want to set the standard for professionalism and ensure that this board leads by example. By holding ourselves to the highest standards, we can inspire confidence and build trust in our community” she said. Madera County officials say Chairwoman Gonzalez has already outlined an ambitious agenda to address the community's most pressing issues and opportunities.
