HDOT to conduct improvements on HNL runways

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation is announcing the reopening of Runway 4R-22L at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 as a part of the ongoing Runway and Taxiway Shoulders Rehabilitation Project.

The runway will then be closed for 41 days starting at 8 p.m. on Jan. 24 until March 5. Runways 8L-26R, 8R-26L and 4R-22L will remain open for arrivals and departures.
DOT to install speed tables near King Kekaulike High School
HDOT says that the closures are needed to perform runway paving and drainage work to maintain compliance with federal standards.
The overall completion of the Runway and Taxiway Shoulders Rehabilitation project is scheduled to be completed in October 2025.
Travelers may experience delays on interisland flights departing HNL during peak hours.
