ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) - The Packers face a tall order in Philadelphia, where they will take on the Eagles in their NFC wild-card matchup. Fans traveling from Wisconsin should expect to spend significantly on tickets and travel. Ticket King in Ashwaubenon says most tickets are selling for $250 to $450, depending on seating. Driver hospitalized after vehicle falls through ice on Shawano Lake “[Prices have] kind of slowly gone down a little, which is traditionally what happens in a wild-card round. The next round is where the ticket prices increase, and there’s more interest,” manager Travis Loftus said. “As you get closer through the week, even Thursday and Friday, they’ll drop in price. How much? Not significantly, but they’ll come down a little bit.” So far, interest has been mediocre. Loftus says most people are just testing the waters. “We’ve had quite a few people calling and shooting over some emails, just kind of kicking the tires, seeing what’s out there,” he said. “We’ve sold a couple of tickets so far.” Loftus says that if the Packers were riding a win streak, rather than a two-game skid, there would likely be more interest in making the trip. However, there is still a lot of energy from those who are going. “I think there’s a lot of excitement. I know the Packers ended on a bad, sour note, and everyone is kind of down, but yeah, everyone that I’ve talked to that is going is super pumped to go, whether they’ve been to Philly before or not,” he said. “Anytime the Packers win, everybody’s happy and [makes] ‘emotional buys,’ so it would’ve been more beneficial if they won their last two.” Loftus says fans planning a trip to Philadelphia should take care of other elements, like hotel and airfare, before securing tickets. “Honestly, the ticket is probably the easiest thing. You could probably wait until the last two days to pull the trigger on something like that for this week,” Loftus said. The hard part will be shelling out money for the hotel room and airfare. According to travel sites Booking.com and Kayak, the average price of a weekend hotel room will cost about $380 for two nights. Neither Appleton International Airport nor Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport offers direct flights to Philadelphia, so passengers will likely need a layover in Chicago. That comes out to about $650 round-trip. Want to drive instead? It’s about 16 hours and 1,000 miles. In a car that gets 25 miles per gallon, gas will cost at least $200. With a current average ticket price of $350, the trip will cost around $1,380 by plane and $930 by car. Back at Ticket King, a playoff game being played across the street went out the window weeks ago. A divisional matchup would be the next best thing. “I wish we could’ve had the Vikings or Lions. That would be great proximity-wise, but it’s good. Obviously, if we had a game at Lambeau, that’s where we make all our money,” Loftus said. “I know that if we win, we would play the Lions next round, so I know there are a lot of Packers fans that would go to Detroit.” Wisconsin man arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting 15-year-old girl As for Loftus' Hail Mary? The Super Bowl, with two divisional meetings along the way. “Everything’s on the road for us, so it’s not as lucrative as it could be. So we’d have to make the Super Bowl for us to get our hands on more tickets,” he said. “We win, play Detroit, go to Minnesota and then go to the Super Bowl. That would be the perfect scenario.”
