COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior guard Myles Stute has been diagnosed with a left lower leg deep vein thrombosis (blood clot) the team announced on Tuesday night. He will be out indefinitely. A two-year starter for the Gamecocks, Stute has played in all 14 games this season, averaging 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He scored a season-high 19 points, knocking down five 3s, in leading the team to victory over No. 25 Clemson back on Dec. 17. A key contributor on last season’s NCAA Tournament squad, Stute played in 27 games (17 starts) in 2023-24 and averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. His 45 made 3s were fourth on the team and his 38.5 percent shooting clip from behind the arc was second behind only All-SEC guard Ta’Lon Cooper.
