Make creative snowmen for kids at Children's Hospital
Jan 07, 2025
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Children's Hospital Colorado is offering a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity, which will provide volunteers with children's drawings of their own creative snowmen, and the volunteers will bring those snow creations to life!
With fresh snowfall comes plenty of outdoor wintry fun for most, but for kids who are fighting to get better in the hospital, it's not always a possibility to get outside and romp in the snow. That's where the "Snow Buddies" program steps in to bring children some of the smiles they might otherwise not get to experience all cooped up indoors.
For the Snow Buddies partnership, children will draw their own ideas for a snowman that they would love to build themselves. Then, a volunteer who is paired with the child will receive a copy of the drawing to recreate. Then, they'll take a photo of the completed snowman and send it back to their partner at Children's Hospital.

The hospital said it is looking to match at least 50 patients with volunteers by the end of March.
