2 arrested for shooting at disabled motorists in Kingstree, deputies say

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Two individuals are in custody after shooting at disabled motorists in October 2024, according to the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Damien Kendrell Major, 23, was arrested on Nov. 1 and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
17-year-old Trenton Ky’Veon Brown was arrested at the Williamsburg County School District Office complex Tuesday morning.
Williamsburg County deputies apprehended the teen at the office, which is home to the Flexible Learning Academy. However, the academy did not require a lockdown due to the incident.
Brown is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is held at the Williamsburg County Detention Center on charges for a separate shooting also.
On Oct. 14, Williamsburg County deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Promised Land Road and Demascus Road in Kingstree for a reported shooting.
When they arrived, they found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS for treatment.
An investigation revealed the victims were shot at while assessing their disabled vehicle.
A nearby residence also received damage from the gunfire.
