NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — With tax season upon us, North Dakotans should be aware if they are eligible for any kind of special credit. One such credit for homeowners that you might know about is the primary residence credit, which is in the amount of up to $500 against property taxes that are owed. The program which is in its second year already has close to 53,000 applications, according to North Dakota Tax Commissioner Brian Kroshus. Plus it was well received during last year's filing period. "I would certainly organize your receipts, work with your preparer in that fashion, make sure you have the appropriate W-2, any applicable 1099 that you might be working with as a part of your household income, those are really important to have those organized in advance," said Kroshus.
