Jan 07, 2025
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Wichita's Orpheum Theater will present "More Like Jackie," a production of Kansas.com, on Feb. 8 at 5 p.m.
On Jan. 25, 2024, a bronze statue of famed baseball player Jackie Robinson was stolen from League 42, a nonprofit baseball league for youth. The statue was destroyed and burned. A new statue was made to replace it, and Ricky Alderete, one of the men responsible for the theft and destruction of the previous statue, was sentenced.
The story behind the documentary garnered worldwide attention, and the film tells a powerful story of how the community came together to overcome a crime that impacted many.
Tickets for the production are $10 for general admission, and they're on sale at Select-A-Seat.
