Local 5th graders learn about weather and journalism
Jan 07, 2025
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Tatham Elementary had a special visitor Tuesday, who explained the world of weather and journalism.
22News Reporter Jack Wu spoke with a lovely group of 5th graders Tuesday afternoon about what a day in the life looks like for a journalist and weather anchor.
This started when Mrs. Lunney's class wrote letters to the station during their earth science lessons in school. They asked about all sorts of weather topics from tornados to hurricanes. Jack responded by describing what we do here at 22News on a daily basis.
He also spoke about how news stations operate during high-priority situations, like inclement weather to national breaking news. These curious kids even went up to our photographer to ask him questions.
Jack says it was an honor to talk to these 5th graders and answer all their questions.
