At the start of the ski day on Dec. 31, with holiday crowds jammed into Park City, the Park City Police Department was summoned to Lowell Avenue at the base of Park City Mountain.Someone contacted the police at 9:16 a.m., noting a location at the heavily used bus stop that serves the resort. The person wanted “the protesters dispersed,” according to public police logs, a reference to striking members of the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association. The person also told the police the location was “private property,” the logs said. The agency classified the case as a business assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.According to the Police Department, the person who contacted the agency was a “business representative.” The police did not identify the business.“Officers were dispatched and, once they arrived, ensured the picketers were in compliance with applicable laws and to keep the peace. They found that the picketers were not on private property or violating any laws. A few personal items were found to be on private property, which picketers immediately removed upon the business representative’s request,” the police said in a response to a Park Record inquiry about the report. The police said the picketers at the time “were located on the sidewalk, in the bus pull-out, near the ice-skating rink at Park City Mountain.”The post Park City Mountain patroller strike prompts report to the police appeared first on Park Record.
