RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The first winter storm of 2025 continues to impact Virginians, whether it be through icy roadways or the lasting effects of power outages. Here's a list of Central Virginia school divisions that will be closed or delayed on Wednesday for those reasons.
The following Central Virginia schools and school districts will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 8:
Albemarle County Public Schools
Caroline County Public Schools
12-month employees should report at 10 a.m. if possible.
Chesterfield County Public Schools
12-month employees should report at 10 a.m. if possible.
Cumberland County Public Schools
Essex County Public Schools
Staff should report at 10 a.m.
Fluvanna County Public Schools
Goochland County Public Schools
Hanover County Public Schools
Closed in part due to ongoing water issues.
Henrico County Public Schools
Closed in part due to ongoing water issues.
12-month employees should work remotely if possible.
Louisa County Public Schools
Mecklenburg County Public Schools
Staff/teacher work day.
Northumberland County Public Schools
Powhatan County Public Schools
Prince Edward County Public Schools
Richmond City Public Schools
Closed due to ongoing water issues.
