PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Petersburg City Council elected the city's mayor and vice mayor during a meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Council members held an organizational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 7, to select the city's mayor and vice mayor.

Sam Parham, who was first elected in Jan. 2017, was re-elected as mayor and will continue to serve.
Darrin Hill, a council member since 2015, was elected as vice mayor. This will be his second term in the role.
