BYHALIA, Miss. — Questions remain following Saturday's deadly crash in Marshall County, where two people were killed and two critically injured. The crash happened while one of the vehicles was being pursued by a Byhalia Police officer. Byhalia Police aren't commenting, saying the matter is still under investigation. Mayor Donald Hollingsworth described the incident as "sad," He said it would be discussed in executive session at Tuesday night's board meeting. ‘A big boom’: Witness recounts deadly Marshall County car crash Still, no one able to say what led a Byhalia Police Officer to reportedly pursue an SUV Saturday night. That SUV crashed into a pickup truck at the intersection of  St. Paul Road and Dockery Drive in the Warsaw Community of Marshall County. 30-year-old Jaqua Blueitt was driving the SUV. He died, and it's unknown why he was being pursued. 63-year-old Michael Crutcher was a passenger in the pickup. He died as well. Crutcher, from Coillierville, was well-known and highly regarded in the Warsaw community. Marshall Co. Sheriff: Police chase led to fatal crash "I heard it was him in that truck. It really did something to me," said Taderio Woods, who knew Crutcher. "Like, Mike ain't never did nothing. All he did was try to help everybody." Why was the SUV being pursued and did the Byhalia Police Officer pursue the SUV beyond police jurisdiction? No one in Byhalia could answer those questions. The crash site is two miles from this sign indicating Byhalia's city limits. Marshall County Sheriff's investigators are handling the case.
