Located near Ward Parkway on 1212 W 69th Street, the $900,000 home is fit for a large family with about 2,851 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, three full baths, one half-bath, and a quarter-acre of land. Crosby Kemper Sr. -- the face of Kemper Arena -- as a wedding gift for his son, R. Crosby Kemper, Jr., who was the co-founder of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. According to the home's listing on ReeceNichols, records show that Kemper, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia Warrick Kemper, moved into the home 75 years ago and lived there while they served the metro as one of the most well-known, philanthropic families in the city's history. However, even though the home was built in the mid-20th century, that doesn't mean it lacks all the creature comforts of a modern-day home. Over the course of about 18 months, the Kemper House underwent extensive renovations to preserve the key elements of the property, while modernizing other necessary features. For example, the listing says that the roof and gutters were replaced in 2023, as well as a full-scale interior remodel, consisting of a gutted and fully modern kitchen, a renovated primary bedroom with a completely new master bath, and a large brick paver patio with new landscaping. Specifically, the siding and the windows have been painted, the floors found in 90% of the home have been refinished in a walnut stain, and the original doors and most of the hardware have also been preserved.
