Tracking a blast of arctic air followed by another round of snow
Jan 07, 2025
Snow has officially ended across Central Indiana but several counties remain under a travel watch tonight.
We will remain quiet the rest of the night under a mostly cloudy sky. Temps are expected to fall into the lower teens to upper single digits. Wind chills are expected to be in the single digits out the door tomorrow morning.
Highs on Wednesday are expected to make a run into the low 20's but several areas will struggle to get Into the 20's. We will then brace for a blast of arctic air Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Lows Wednesday night are expected to fall below 0° due to the snowpack on the ground. A light wind is expected but enough to push wind chills to -5° to -10°. Thursday is expected to remain cold, with wind chills in the single digits and low teens.
As we try to thaw out from the bitter cold, we will begin to brace for another shot of snow Friday afternoon. This will not have the punch we saw from Sunday's snowstorm but accumulations will be possible from this system.
